Hey guys! If you're anything like me, you get through your work quickly. You then find another way to fill your time, but doing the same things over and over and over and over (you get the idea) can get boring. Have you considered doing the following?
-Ride your bike up and down the street -Make a pillow fort with blankets and couch cushions -Play in the hose/pool in your backyard. Perfect now that it's hot again! -Teach your pet a new trick -READ A BOOK! (The Leon County Library has been coming up with some great suggestions you can read online!) -Write a letter to a friend and check in on them and tell them what you've been doing. -Write a story about an alien species who tries to take over Earth, only to be stopped by the wildlife. -Asking your parent/guardian to teach you how to cook when they make lunch or dinner -Copy old art using things you find lying around the house Drop a comment and let me know what else we can do to keep from being bored! (No, video games and binge watching TV don't count. Be creative!) I miss you guys and I can't wait to hear what creative ways you've come up with to keep yourselves out of trouble!

I've been working with competent cells trying to get the correct types of bacteria and proteins to grow so that we look at interactions between different proteins. My lab partner had to go back and redo some of our work because our control samples grew things they were not supposed to grow.
Summer food for thought: Why would I go back and redo my experiment? Why is having a control group so important to scientific exploration and research? |
